How long are the sessions?
55 minutes.

How much are your fees and do you take insurance? 
$180 if you pay by Cash, Zelle or Venmo
$200 if you pay by credit card, debit card or HSA card.

Self-Pay

Self-pay offers the highest level of confidentiality, as there is no insurance company involved in managing your care. Insurance companies may limit the number of sessions and often require a mental health diagnosis. With self-pay, you can avoid a diagnosis and have the flexibility to attend as many sessions as needed without any restrictions.​

Do you take Insurance?

I am currently in-network on the following HMO or PPO Health Insurance Panels:

• ​Cigna/Evernorth - (No EAP Sessions)
• Magellan
• Healthnet ​
• BlueShield of California​​​​

I do not take any EAP,  Medi-Cal or Medicare plans.

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance. Please check your coverage carefully for both "In-Network Provider" and "Out-of-Network Provider" benefits by asking the following questions:

• Do I have behavioral health insurance benefits?
• Is Shirla de Magalhaes in network?
• What is my deductible and has it been met? (please note you must pay the full session fee specific to your insurance if your deductible has  been met yet).
• How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
• Do I have a co-pay per session?
• Is approval required from my primary care physician?                         
  

If I am out of network you may ask: What are my out-of-network benefits and what is my out-of-network deductible?

​If you have PPO Insurance and I am out of network, you would pay me my full fee of $180 and I can provide you with a receipt/Super Bill and you may be eligible for a partial reimbursement of the treatment's cost by your insurance provider.

​Each insurance plan is different, so please contact your insurance company prior to our first meeting to fully understand the details of your specific policy.

I am at the office Tuesday-Thursday. No evening or weekend appointments available.

Please allow yourself enough time to find parking. Non Metered street parking available. The office does not have an indoor waiting room,  only outdoor seating available outside my studio (my patio is the side with the brick flooring).

I am not a crisis therapist and do not check my messages or e-mails over the weekend or after hours. I will return all non emergency calls and e-mails at my earliest convenience Monday- Friday during regular business hours.
